Meet your guide in central Prague, and then set off on a stroll to Wenceslas Square – one of the most famous historical squares in Europe. Hear of pivotal moments in Czech history that took place here, as your guide explains key events like the Prague Spring of 1968 and the following Velvet Revolution.

Wander to Havelska Market to browse the stalls selling colorful knick-knacks, and then take an amble around the alleyways of the Old Town, admiring the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture that abounds. Stop at Old Town Square and pose for photos under the Astronomical Clock – the oldest one of its kind in the world.

As you stroll from the Old Town to the Jewish quarter, learn about the city’s fascinating Jewish history. The city was one of the few European cities to keep its synagogues during World War II, and several of its most beautiful examples are seen as you stroll through the neighborhood.

Stop at a traditional restaurant in the Old Town for a typical
Czech meal (perhaps a warming beef goulash with bread dumplings or fried
cheese), and after relaxing over lunch head to the riverside and hop aboard a replica of a 19th-century sailboat for your cruise down the Vltava River. As you glide underneath Charles Bridge, have your camera ready to capture sights of the Old Town and the streets of the Little Quarter – an area full of pretty canals. Relax with a refreshing Czech beer, lemonade or hot drink on board, and then hop off your boat to continue your tour by foot.

Then, jump aboard a local tram and ride up the hill to Prague Castle – the city’s Gothic showpiece. To explore the UNESCO-listed castle complex would take at least an entire day – if not longer – so head inside and visit one of its highlights, the magnificent St Vitus Cathedral. Your tour finishes here, but you can stay inside the cathedral for longer if you wish.
