Calling all Italian food lovers! If you’re a gourmand, cooking aficionado or a fan of homemade cuisine, this intimate, full-day cooking tour from Rome is for you! Numbers are limited to a maximum of 12 people on this small-group Italian cooking class, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your knowledgeable food expert. You will travel to a small village in the Roman countryside, where you’ll learn to cook a traditional Italian meal.

Where better than the Roman countryside to take an Italian cooking class? You will spend the day with a skilled chef who will take you step-by-step through the process of preparing a traditional Italian meal, from appetizer to dessert. The small number of participants in this class ensures you will have personalized attention from your expert chef and a highly memorable Italian culinary experience.

Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Rome. Your guide will take you off the beaten path to the ancient village of Mazzano Romano, where you’ll visit the local market to acquire all the necessary ingredients for your class. Your guide will give you tips for selecting the best and freshest vegetables, eggs, spices and meat. Then it’s time to start cooking!

Your cooking lesson takes place in a fully equipped, typical Roman kitchen. Under the guidance of your chef, you will learn how to prepare a four-course Italian meal, including three different types of homemade pasta. You will also learn how to match each dish with suitable wines, selected from the best local varieties. Of course, no Italian cooking experience would be complete without sampling your creations – when you have finished in the kitchen, you’ll gather round the table with your fellow aspiring chefs, sip some wine and taste the delicious Italian meal you have prepared.

On the way back to your hotel in Rome, you’ll be taken to the nearby village of Calcata, a thriving old town known for its restaurants, galleries, cafés and shops. Calcata makes a perfect end to a truly unique Roman vacation experience. Please note, the visit to Calcata is only included when traveling between November 2012 -  March, 2013.
